AFFORDABLE ENERGY KEY TO INDUSTRIALISATION — LOKPOBIRI
Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, has stressed that developing countries need affordable energy to achieve industrialisation and sustainable economic growth.
Lokpobiri said access to reasonably priced energy is essential for industries to operate efficiently, expand production and create jobs.
He noted that high energy costs can place significant pressure on businesses, making it more difficult for developing economies to compete in global markets and attract investment.
The minister’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about energy costs, industrial development and the need to strengthen domestic energy production across developing nations.
For Nigeria, access to affordable and reliable energy remains a major concern for manufacturers and other businesses facing high operating costs.
Lokpobiri’s position highlights the importance of energy policies that support industrial growth while improving access to reliable and affordable power for businesses and households.
