The Edo State Government has dismissed reports suggesting that Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is not welcome in the state.
The state government clarified that Davido is free to visit Edo State and perform at any event, describing reports to the contrary as false.
A government official said there is no restriction placed on the singer and that the state remains open to him.
The clarification comes amid reports and social media claims suggesting that Davido could face restrictions over his activities or planned appearances in the state.
The government urged members of the public to disregard such reports, stressing that Davido remains free to visit Edo and engage in legitimate activities, including performances.
The development is expected to put to rest speculation surrounding the singer’s relationship with the Edo State Government.
Davido has remained one of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, with a large following both within the country and internationally.
The Edo Government said it welcomes the singer and has no reason to prevent him from visiting or performing in the state.
