I NEVER THREATENED NORTHERNERS WITH SUFFERING IF TINUBU LOSES — AKPABIO
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has denied threatening Northerners with suffering if President Bola Tinubu loses the 2027 presidential election.
Akpabio said his comments had been misunderstood and insisted that he did not threaten Nigerians from the northern part of the country over their political choices.
The controversy followed remarks attributed to the Senate President in connection with the 2027 election and the possible outcome of the presidential contest.
Akpabio’s clarification comes amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with politicians and political groups increasingly making statements about voting patterns and support for different candidates.
The Senate President maintained that his position should not be interpreted as a threat against any region or group of Nigerians.
Political activities are expected to intensify as parties and politicians prepare for the 2027 elections.
