BADEJO-OKUSANYA: I’LL UNITE NBA, PUT OUR HOUSE IN ORDER

President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has pledged to unite the association and address lingering internal grievances ahead of her swearing-in at the end of August.
Badejo-Okusanya made the commitment on Tuesday after paying a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, where she outlined her vision for the legal body.
She said her administration would focus on fostering unity among members, strengthening the association’s internal structures, and promoting professionalism within the legal profession.
According to her, resolving internal disagreements and rebuilding trust among members will be a top priority, as a united NBA is better positioned to uphold the rule of law and defend the interests of Nigerians.
The president-elect also reaffirmed her commitment to protecting the independence of the legal profession while advancing reforms that will improve the welfare and development of lawyers across the country.
Badejo-Okusanya expressed appreciation for the support she received during the election and promised to lead with fairness, inclusiveness, and integrity throughout her tenure.
She said her administration would work closely with all stakeholders to strengthen the NBA and ensure it continues to play its vital role in promoting justice, democracy, and the rule of law in Nigeria.
