Pressure is mounting on the House of Representatives to invite the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, as part of its ongoing investigation into the activities of an alleged fake government agency.
The calls followed recent developments in the probe, with some stakeholders urging lawmakers to widen the scope of the investigation to establish the full extent of the agency’s operations and any official connections.
Those making the demand argued that inviting all individuals linked to the matter would promote transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the investigative process.
The House is currently examining allegations surrounding the operations of the organisation, which is accused of presenting itself as a legitimate government agency without legal recognition.
Lawmakers have maintained that the investigation is aimed at uncovering the facts, protecting the integrity of public institutions, and preventing individuals or groups from misleading Nigerians.
While the House has yet to announce whether it will summon Gbajabiamila, it has reiterated its commitment to conducting a fair, thorough, and impartial investigation into the matter.
The outcome of the probe is expected to shape further legislative action as efforts continue to strengthen oversight and safeguard the credibility of government institutions.
