APC GROUP TARGETS 24 MILLION ELDERLY VOTES FOR TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION
A political support group, Renewed Hope for the Elderly, has launched a nationwide mobilisation campaign aimed at securing about 24 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.
The group said the initiative is focused on rallying elderly Nigerians behind President Tinubu’s administration, citing policies and programmes designed to improve the welfare of senior citizens.
According to the group’s leaders, the campaign will involve grassroots engagement across the country to encourage older citizens to actively participate in the electoral process and support the President’s second-term bid.
They argued that the Tinubu administration has demonstrated commitment to the well-being of elderly Nigerians through various social intervention programmes and economic policies.
The group also called on senior citizens to unite and play a more active role in shaping the country’s political future by supporting leaders they believe prioritise their interests.
Political observers note that elderly voters remain a significant voting bloc whose participation could influence the outcome of future elections.
The mobilisation campaign comes as political groups and stakeholders continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
