The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to embrace healthier eating habits by choosing natural, locally produced foods to improve their well-being and prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
Speaking during a health awareness programme, Mrs. Soludo encouraged families to reduce their consumption of highly processed foods and sugary drinks, stressing the importance of balanced diets rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other nutritious local foods.
She said healthy food choices are essential for boosting immunity, preventing non-communicable diseases, and promoting a healthier population.
According to her, many common health conditions can be prevented through proper nutrition, regular physical activity, and healthy lifestyle practices.
The Anambra First Lady also called on parents to instill healthy eating habits in children from an early age, noting that good nutrition plays a critical role in physical growth, mental development, and academic performance.
