Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has hailed the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing it as a historic achievement in Ekiti State’s democratic journey.
According to Bamidele, Oyebanji has become the first governor in Ekiti State since the return to democratic rule in 1999 to secure re-election consecutively, a feat he attributed to the governor’s inclusive leadership style and performance in office.
He noted that the governor’s ability to unite political stakeholders, traditional rulers, civil servants, youths, and community leaders contributed significantly to the overwhelming support he received at the polls.
Bamidele said the election outcome reflects the confidence of Ekiti people in Oyebanji’s administration and its development agenda across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
The Senate Leader also commended voters for their peaceful conduct during the election and praised electoral officials and security agencies for their roles in ensuring a credible process.
He expressed optimism that the governor’s second term would consolidate ongoing development projects and accelerate economic growth across the state.
The historic victory has continued to generate reactions from political leaders and supporters, many of whom describe it as a strong endorsement of Oyebanji’s leadership and governance record.
