Former Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has explained why he decided to document his years in public office in a new book titled “Headlines and Soundbites: Media Moments that Defined an Administration.”

Mohammed said the book captures major events, controversies and communication strategies that shaped the Buhari administration, offering readers a firsthand account of decisions taken and the challenges faced while managing the government’s public image.

He noted that the memoir also aims to correct misconceptions, preserve historical records and highlight lessons for future information managers in Nigeria. According to him, documenting such experiences is crucial in a country where institutional memory is often lost.
