2027: OYO APC CHAIR PRAISES TINUBU FOR IMPROVED ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

The Oyo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Moses Alake Adeyemo, has attributed the recent improvement in electricity supply across Nigeria to the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to reviving critical sectors of the economy.

Adeyemo spoke in Ibadan when he led members of the party’s State Executive Committee to receive the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, who paid a visit to the party leadership following his appointment by President Tinubu.

The APC chairman said Nigerians deserved improved power supply and expressed confidence that Tegbe would contribute to addressing challenges in the electricity sector.

Tegbe, who assumed office as Minister of Power in July, said the Federal Government was determined to address the country’s power challenges. He said Nigerians had witnessed considerable improvement in electricity supply in recent weeks, while acknowledging that more work remained to be done.

The minister also disclosed plans for additional power projects, including solar-powered street lights along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and mini solar grids at six locations in Oyo State. He said projects in Ogbomoso and Saki were also receiving attention.

Tegbe said the Federal Government would continue implementing projects aimed at expanding electricity access and improving reliability, adding that the government remained committed to addressing challenges in the power sector.

Adeyemo and other Oyo APC leaders also pledged their support for the Tinubu administration and the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
