Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Ekiti North, Olusegun Osinkolu, has expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the upcoming Ekiti 2026 governorship election.
Speaking after securing the PDP senatorial ticket, Osinkolu said the growing support for the party across the state indicates that voters are ready for political change.
According to him, the PDP remains determined to rebuild its structure and mobilise supporters ahead of both the governorship and future legislative elections in Ekiti State.
The senatorial candidate also praised party members and delegates for their support during the primary process, promising to work toward strengthening unity within the PDP.
Osinkolu expressed optimism that the partyโs strategies, grassroots mobilisation and political consultations would position it strongly against rival parties in the state.
Political observers say early political declarations and confidence statements are expected as parties intensify preparations for the Ekiti governorship race.
Analysts believe the election could become highly competitive as both the ruling party and opposition groups continue mobilisation efforts across the state.
The PDP has continued consultations and internal restructuring in a bid to regain political dominance in Ekiti.
Supporters of the party welcomed the statement, insisting that the opposition still has strong grassroots support capable of influencing the outcome of future elections.
