𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐛𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝟑𝟐 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐬
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a list of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation. The list includes 17 non-career nominees and 15 career diplomats drawn from various states across the federation.
Those on the non-career list include former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri, former INEC chairman Mahmud Yakubu, former Enugu governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, ex-First Lady of Ekiti Angela Adebayo, and former Lagos deputy governor Femi Pedro, among others.
Also nominated are former senators Grace Bent, Nora Daduut, businessman-senator Jimoh Ibrahim, and other political figures from different geopolitical zones.
The career nominees include senior foreign service officers such as Enebechi Okwuchukwu, Miamuna Besto, Yvonne Odumah, Mopelola Adeola-Ibrahim, Shehu Barde, Ahmed Monguno, and Saidu Dahiru.
Once confirmed, the nominees will be deployed to countries and international missions considered strategic to Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements, including China, India, the UAE, Canada, South Korea, South Africa, Kenya, and global bodies like the UN and AU.
