The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed that human rights activist and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, remains on the police wanted list for allegedly attempting to incite public unrest in the state.
Jimoh, speaking during a media briefing on Monday, said the police had gathered credible intelligence linking Sowore to planned disruptive activities aimed at destabilizing public peace.
He emphasized that the command would not tolerate any action capable of breaching law and order, stressing that Sowore’s continued evasion of arrest would not prevent the law from taking its course.
The Commissioner urged the activist to honour police invitations and warned his supporters against mobilizing protests or obstructing ongoing investigations.
