Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has urged health workers in the state to exhibit compassion, dedication, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, noting that the government’s heavy investment in healthcare will be futile without corresponding commitment from the workforce.

Speaking during the commissioning of a newly renovated Primary Health Centre in Ijero-Ekiti, Oyebanji said his administration remains committed to ensuring that residents in rural communities have access to affordable and quality medical services.

He explained that the state government’s reforms in the health sector were designed to address years of neglect and ensure that both personnel and facilities meet acceptable standards.

The governor commended health professionals for their resilience, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, but appealed to them to treat patients with empathy and respect, describing such attitude as vital to rebuilding public trust in the system.

Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s plans to recruit more health workers, provide modern equipment, and strengthen the referral system across hospitals to enhance service delivery in the state.
