Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Radda, on Wednesday signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, approving a total budget of N897.86tn aimed at strengthening security, improving infrastructure, and expanding social welfare across the state.
Speaking during the signing ceremony at the Government House, Radda said the financial plan aligns with his administration’s development priorities and was designed to address emerging challenges, particularly insecurity and economic hardship.
He commended the Katsina State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill, noting that the legislative support reflects a shared commitment to improving governance and service delivery for residents.
According to the governor, the budget places strong emphasis on education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development, with allocations expected to boost job creation and enhance living standards across local communities.
Radda directed all ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and timely implementation, stressing that accountability and transparency would remain central throughout the 2026 fiscal year.
The 2026 budget replaces the 2025 fiscal plan and is expected to take immediate effect following the governor’s assent.
