Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has presented a proposed 2026 budget of N985.9bn to the Kaduna State House of Assembly, prioritising capital development, community-level projects, education, and healthcare.
Governor Sani said the budget, tagged “Budget of Consolidation and Inclusive Growth,” is designed to deepen infrastructural expansion while improving citizens’ access to essential services. He noted that the administration remains committed to delivering people-centred programmes despite current economic challenges.
According to the breakdown, a significant portion of the budget is allocated to capital expenditure, reflecting the government’s focus on roads, urban renewal, rural development, security infrastructure, and water projects. Social sectors such as health and education also received sizeable allocations to strengthen service delivery, improve school infrastructure, and enhance primary healthcare systems.
The governor emphasised the importance of community-based initiatives, stating that the government will continue to invest in programmes that directly impact local communities, especially vulnerable groups. He added that transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management would guide budget implementation.
The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly assured that lawmakers would give the proposal thorough consideration to ensure the budget aligns with citizens’ needs and the state’s long-term development goals.
