The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has advised advocates of the proposed New Oyo State to first build internal unity before pushing forward their agitation.
He said the campaigners must “put their house in order” if they hope to achieve broad support for the creation of the new state.
The monarch gave the advice while addressing groups championing the proposal.

Oba Ladoja noted that state creation requires strong consensus and collective clarity among stakeholders, stressing that divided voices weaken the credibility of such demands. He urged the proponents to harmonise their positions and engage in sustained dialogue before presenting their case to the appropriate authorities.

The monarch also cautioned that only a coordinated and well-structured campaign can gain meaningful attention at the federal level, adding that unity of purpose will determine the strength of their advocacy.
