Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State on Wednesday presented a ₦914 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly, outlining key priorities in infrastructure, education, health, and security.
The budget, christened “Budget of Restoration and Consolidation II,” represents a 22% increase from the previous year’s appropriation, reflecting the government’s ambition to accelerate post-crisis recovery and inclusive growth.
Mutfwang explained that ₦532 billion was earmarked for capital expenditure while ₦382 billion was set aside for recurrent expenses, adding that the budget seeks to strengthen Plateau’s economic resilience and attract private investment.
