PETER OBI HAS NOTHING TO OFFER NIGERIANS — SHETTIMA
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has criticised Labour Party figure Peter Obi, claiming that the former Anambra State governor has little to offer Nigerians beyond citing statistics.
Shettima’s remarks add to the growing political exchanges ahead of the 2027 general election, as political leaders debate the records, policies and proposals of potential contenders.
The Vice-President’s criticism centres on what he portrays as a gap between presenting statistics and offering practical solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
Obi, a former presidential candidate, has frequently featured in national discussions on economic management, public spending and governance. His supporters have highlighted his emphasis on data, accountability and efficient use of public resources.
The exchange reflects the widening political debate over which policies and leadership approaches can best address issues such as inflation, unemployment, insecurity and the cost of living.
Shettima’s statement represents his assessment of Obi; the brief did not include a direct response from Obi or his representatives.
