The Lagos State Government has announced a three-week traffic diversion to allow repair works on the Oke-Afa Bridge in Isolo.
The temporary closure is aimed at creating a safe working environment for engineers and contractors carrying out repairs on the bridge.
Motorists and other road users who normally use the bridge will be diverted to alternative routes during the repair period.
The government urged motorists to plan their journeys ahead, follow traffic signs and obey instructions from traffic management officials deployed to the area.
Authorities appealed for patience and understanding from residents, stressing that the repairs are necessary to improve the condition and safety of the bridge.
Motorists were also advised to allow extra travel time during the period, as the diversion could increase traffic on surrounding roads.
The state government said traffic management measures would be put in place to minimise congestion and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles.
Residents and commuters in Isolo and surrounding areas are encouraged to use available alternative routes until the repair work is completed.
