OTTI PRESENTS LP FLAG TO KALU’S CHALLENGER
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has presented the Labour Party (LP) flag to Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as OFUJI, ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election in Bende Federal Constituency.
Otti presented the party flag on Sunday at the Umuahia Township Stadium during the Labour Party’s campaign flag-off, attended by party leaders, lawmakers, government officials and supporters.
While handing over the flag, the governor urged residents to vote for Labour Party candidates across the state, expressing confidence in the party’s ability to represent the interests of the people.
“Make sure you vote for all the Labour Party candidates. I am handing over this flag to Dr Chima Anyaso (OFUJI), and I am doing that in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Otti said.
In his response, Anyaso described the presentation as an important milestone in his political journey, promising to take his campaign to communities across Bende.
He said his campaign team would visit all 13 wards and 214 polling units in the constituency to engage residents and present what he described as a message of hope.
Anyaso also pledged to focus on grassroots mobilisation and direct engagement with constituents to understand their concerns and expectations.
His emergence as the Labour Party’s flag bearer sets up a political contest with the incumbent representative, Benjamin Kalu, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The race for the Bende Federal Constituency seat is expected to attract considerable attention as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
