POLICE WILL MAKE NIGERIANS PROUD IN 2027 ELECTION — IGP
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has assured Nigerians that the police will demonstrate professionalism during the 2027 general election.
Disu said the police would work to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process, with officers expected to carry out their duties in line with the law.
His assurance comes amid concerns about election security, voter intimidation and the conduct of security personnel during previous elections.
The police play a key role in protecting voters, maintaining public order and responding to security threats before, during and after elections.
The IGP’s statement highlights the importance of neutrality, discipline and respect for citizens’ rights in the discharge of police duties during the electoral process.
Nigerians will be watching how the police translate the assurance into action as preparations for the 2027 polls continue.
