GOMBE BEGINS N10.32BN GRATUITY PAYMENT TO 6,665 RETIREES

The Gombe State Government has commenced the payment of N10.32 billion in gratuities to 6,665 retirees from the state and local governments.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya announced the development, describing the payment as part of his administration’s efforts to address outstanding retirement benefits owed to former public servants.
The beneficiaries include retired workers from various state and local government establishments who are expected to receive their entitlements under the payment exercise.
The initiative is aimed at easing the financial difficulties faced by retirees who have waited for their gratuities after years of service to the state.
The government said the payment reflects its commitment to the welfare of former employees and the fulfilment of its obligations to pensioners.
The development is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of retirees and their families across Gombe State.
