BAD ROADS DRIVE CUSTOMERS AWAY FROM OGUN BUSINESSES

Business owners in Arepo, Ogun State, have lamented declining patronage as the deplorable condition of Pipeline Road continues to make access to their businesses difficult.

The traders said the poor state of the road, particularly during the rainy season, has affected business activities as motorists and customers are discouraged by dust, flooding and difficult driving conditions.

Some business owners said customers who previously visited their shops and other establishments now avoid the area because of the condition of the road, resulting in reduced sales and income.

They also expressed concern about the impact of flooding, saying heavy rainfall often worsens the already poor condition of the road and makes some sections difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to navigate.

Residents and business operators have called on the Ogun State Government and relevant authorities to intervene by rehabilitating Pipeline Road and providing proper drainage infrastructure.

They said fixing the road would not only improve movement but also help businesses in the area attract customers and support economic activities within the community.
