KANO APPOINTS 19 NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES, REDEPLOYS 14

The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and the redeployment of 14 others as part of efforts to strengthen the state civil service and improve public service delivery.
The appointments were approved by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf following recommendations aimed at enhancing efficiency, professionalism, and effective administration across government ministries, departments, and agencies.
According to the government, the newly appointed permanent secretaries were selected based on merit, competence, experience, and commitment to public service.
The redeployment of 14 permanent secretaries is intended to reposition the civil service by placing experienced administrators in strategic roles where their expertise can improve policy implementation and service delivery.
The state government said the exercise forms part of ongoing civil service reforms designed to boost productivity, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote transparency and accountability in governance.
The newly appointed and redeployed officials were urged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a vibrant, efficient, and people-oriented civil service capable of driving the state’s development agenda and delivering quality services to residents.
