Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has condemned the killing of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) chairman in Benue State and his associate, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
Akume described the attack as senseless and unacceptable, urging security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.
He expressed condolences to the families of the victims, the leadership of MACBAN, and the people of Benue State over the tragic incident.
The SGF stressed that criminal acts must not be allowed to undermine peace and security, adding that justice for the victims would help strengthen public confidence in the nation’s security and judicial systems.
He also appealed to residents to remain calm, avoid reprisals, and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could aid ongoing investigations.
Akume reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity and protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians, regardless of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
The incident has renewed calls for stronger security measures and sustained efforts to curb violent attacks in parts of the country.
