Obi calls for unity, action after ‘successful’ ADC convention
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called for unity and renewed focus following what he described as a successful national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja.
Obi expressed appreciation to party members and supporters for their commitment and participation, noting that the convention marked an important step in strengthening the party.
He, however, urged stakeholders to move beyond celebrations and concentrate on addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including economic hardship, insecurity and governance issues.
According to him, the real task ahead is to build a credible alternative that can deliver effective leadership and improve the lives of Nigerians.
Obi emphasised the need for collaboration, discipline and strategic planning as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
Observers say his remarks reflect a broader push for consolidation within the ADC and efforts to position the party as a strong force in the country’s political landscape.
