The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that it will participate in the 2027 general elections on its platform, insisting that no action by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) can prevent the party from fielding candidates.
In a statement, the party dismissed concerns that recent developments involving the electoral body could hinder its participation, maintaining that it remains a duly registered political party with the right to contest elections.
ADC leaders emphasised their commitment to democratic processes, stating that they are taking necessary steps to comply with all electoral requirements ahead of the polls.
The party also reassured its members and supporters, urging them to remain confident and focused despite what it described as challenges and attempts to create uncertainty.
According to the ADC, it is strengthening its structures nationwide and preparing to present credible candidates across various positions in the 2027 elections.
Observers say the declaration reflects growing political tension and positioning among parties as the race toward 2027 continues to gather momentum.
