Prominent Nigerian women have called for greater investment in women as a key strategy for strengthening the countryโ€™s economy and driving sustainable development.

Among those who made the call were the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, filmmaker Funke Akindele, singer Waje, dancer Kaffy, drummer Ara, and vocalist Yinka Davies.

The women spoke during a gathering focused on women empowerment and national development, where they emphasized the importance of providing women with access to funding, education, leadership opportunities, and entrepreneurial support.

According to them, empowering women economically will not only improve family livelihoods but also significantly contribute to Nigeriaโ€™s overall economic growth.

Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu highlighted the need for deliberate policies that support women in business and leadership positions, noting that women play a crucial role in national development.

Similarly, the entertainers and cultural icons present stressed that investing in womenโ€™s talents, creativity, and businesses can unlock enormous economic potential for the country.

The speakers concluded that when women are empowered with the right resources and opportunities, they can drive innovation, job creation, and long-term economic progress for Nigeria.
