COPAC Warns FG To Release El-Rufai

The Coalition Political Action Committee (COPAC), led by Aminu Datti-Ahmed, has warned the Federal Government to immediately release former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Speaking on Sunday, the group said any continued detention or harassment of the former governor would raise serious concerns about political intimidation and the rule of law in Nigeria.

COPAC stressed that democratic institutions must be respected and that no citizen should be subjected to unlawful treatment or persecution.

The group urged the Federal Government to act within the provisions of the law and ensure that the rights of all Nigerians, including political figures, are protected.

According to the coalition, the situation surrounding El-Rufai must be handled transparently in order to maintain public confidence in the country’s democratic system.

COPAC also called on relevant authorities to ensure due process is followed and warned that failure to do so could further deepen political tensions.
