President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of several Nigerian ambassadors to various countries around the world as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic presence and international relations.

The development was disclosed by the Federal Government, noting that the appointments and postings are aimed at improving Nigeria’s foreign policy engagement, promoting economic diplomacy, and enhancing bilateral cooperation with partner nations.

According to officials, the newly posted ambassadors are expected to represent Nigeria’s interests abroad, deepen trade and investment opportunities, and strengthen diplomatic ties between Nigeria and host countries.

The presidency stated that the ambassadors would play key roles in promoting Nigeria’s economic agenda, attracting foreign investment, and advancing the country’s strategic partnerships across different regions of the world.

Government sources also explained that the postings followed consultations within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies to ensure that experienced diplomats and qualified representatives are deployed to critical missions.

The administration emphasised that the move is part of ongoing reforms to revitalise Nigeria’s diplomatic service and ensure that foreign missions operate more efficiently in advancing national interests.

The ambassadors are expected to assume duties at their respective diplomatic missions after completing the necessary documentation and receiving their letters of credence.

Observers say the new postings are likely to strengthen Nigeria’s engagement with global partners and enhance the country’s role in regional and international affairs.
