Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has issued a stern warning to the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chief of Staff, cautioning them against engaging in secret meetings or political activities capable of undermining his administration.

The governor reportedly delivered the warning during a strategic meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt, shortly after the officials assumed office. According to sources present at the meeting, Fubara stressed the need for absolute loyalty, transparency, and commitment to the mandate given to his administration.

He was quoted as saying that any act of disloyalty, backdoor political dealings, or engagement in undisclosed meetings without his knowledge would attract immediate dismissal.

“This administration will not tolerate divided loyalty. Anyone found engaging in secret meetings or actions that compromise the integrity of this government will be relieved of their duties without hesitation,” the governor reportedly stated.

Fubara emphasized that his government remains focused on delivering governance, stability, and development for the people of Rivers State, warning that internal sabotage would not be allowed to derail ongoing reforms and policy implementation.

Political observers interpret the governor’s remarks as a move to consolidate control within his inner circle amid ongoing political tensions in the state. Rivers has witnessed heightened political alignments and realignments in recent months, fueling speculation about internal divisions within the state’s power structure.

The newly appointed officials, in their responses, pledged loyalty and commitment to supporting the governor’s agenda. They assured him of their dedication to transparent governance and teamwork.

As political developments continue to unfold in Rivers State, analysts say the governor’s firm stance signals a determination to maintain discipline within his administration.
