Fayose: Only Fasting, Prayers Can Save Fubara From Impeachment
Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose has said that only fasting and prayers can save Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers State, from imminent impeachment.
Fayose made the remark on Friday during an interview on Channels Television while reacting to the deepening rift between Governor Fubara and the Rivers State House of Assembly.
According to Fayose, the political crisis in Rivers has gone beyond negotiations, insisting that the governor’s fate now rests in divine intervention rather than political maneuvering.
The Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday initiated impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, citing allegations of “gross misconduct.”
The move follows weeks of political tension and power struggle within the state, raising concerns over governance and stability in Rivers.
