President Bola Tinubu will on Friday present the 2026 Appropriation Bill, estimated at โ‚ฆ54.46 trillion, to a joint session of the National Assembly.

The budget presentation, scheduled for December 19, 2025, will outline the federal governmentโ€™s fiscal priorities for the coming year, including projected revenues, expenditure plans and key policy assumptions.

Lawmakers are expected to begin debates on the proposal shortly after the presentation, with committees to scrutinise sectoral allocations before passage. The process will also involve consultations with relevant ministries, departments and agencies.

The 2026 budget comes amid ongoing efforts by the administration to stabilise the economy, boost revenue generation and fund critical infrastructure and social programmes.
