𝗢𝘁𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗡20𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has contributed N20 million to the 2026 Armed Forces Appeal Fund to honour fallen military heroes and strengthen security across the state. The donation, announced at a ceremony in the state capital, is part of the governor’s efforts to support the welfare of armed forces personnel and promote peace in the region.

Speaking during the presentation, Governor Otu commended the bravery and sacrifices of the men and women in uniform and called on residents to continue collaborating with security agencies to ensure safety in communities. He emphasized that the gesture reflects the state government’s commitment to national security and the recognition of heroes who gave their lives in service to the nation.

The Armed Forces Appeal Fund provides assistance to the families of fallen soldiers and supports initiatives that enhance the operational capacity of the military. Governor Otu’s donation is expected to bolster these efforts and encourage other stakeholders to contribute to the welfare of the country’s security personnel.
