The Presidency says no ransom was paid by the Federal Government to secure the release of recently abducted Nigerians, reaffirming its stance against negotiating with criminals.

A senior presidential aide revealed that the governmentโ€™s coordinated security operations were responsible for the safe rescue of the victims, dismissing reports suggesting monetary exchange. He stressed that President Bola Tinubu remains firm on dismantling kidnapping networks rather than empowering them through ransom payments.

According to him, security agencies have intensified joint operations across vulnerable areas, leading to multiple breakthroughs in recent weeks. He added that the administration is prioritising intelligence-driven actions to prevent further attacks and ensure communities are protected.

The aide urged the public to disregard speculative claims and maintain confidence in ongoing security reforms aimed at permanently ending banditry and terrorism.
