A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Bode George, has clarified that former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, acted based on a misunderstanding of the partyโs nomination procedures ahead of the 2025 national convention.
George explained that Lamidoโs recent comments questioning aspects of the nomination process stemmed from a misinterpretation of the guidelines issued by the partyโs leadership. He noted that the PDPโs roadmap for the convention was properly communicated to all stakeholders, including former governors and senior party members.
He emphasised that the PDP remains committed to fairness, transparency, and wide consultation as it prepares to elect new national officers. According to him, the party welcomes concerns from its members, provided they are channelled through the appropriate internal structures.
George urged party members to avoid public statements that may create the impression of internal discord, stressing that unity and discipline are crucial as the PDP positions itself for the 2025 political season.
He added that Lamido remains a respected figure within the party and expressed confidence that any misunderstanding would be resolved through dialogue and established processes.
