United Bank for Africa (UBA) Group Chairman and founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Tony Elumelu, has embarked on a multi-country working tour across East, Central, and Southern Africa to strengthen economic ties and accelerate private-sector-led development.
The visit, according to UBA, will span Kenya, the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with Elumelu engaging presidents, policymakers, business leaders, and youth innovators on infrastructure financing, digital inclusion, and entrepreneurship.
Elumelu said the mission was to โignite partnerships that drive real impact,โ stressing the need for Africa to take ownership of its growth by empowering entrepreneurs and bridging infrastructure gaps.
The initiative aligns with UBAโs vision of positioning Africa as a hub of innovation and prosperity, as the bank targets $50 billion in trade and investment flows over the next five years.
