The Bauchi State Government has expressed optimism that the state’s vast natural and agricultural resources can play a major role in addressing Nigeria’s food security challenges.

Speaking during the Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Investment, Salis Gamawa, said Bauchi is ready to partner with both local and foreign investors to unlock its agricultural potential.

Gamawa described the summit as a turning point in the state’s efforts to attract private investment and transform Bauchi into a commercial and industrial hub, beyond its traditional agrarian identity.

Also, the summit’s organising committee chairman, Prof. Murtala Sagagi, noted that Bauchi’s peaceful environment and rich natural endowments make it one of the most viable states for agricultural expansion and a key contributor to solving national food insecurity.
