NYSC contributes N14bn services to Lagos yearly – DG

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, has revealed that corps members contribute services valued at over N14 billion annually to Lagos State.
Nafiu disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House, Marina, on Friday.
According to a statement by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the DG explained that the contributions came from the efforts of more than 44,000 corps members deployed across the state in critical sectors. These include 333 medical doctors, 306 pharmacists, 274 nurses, and 7,188 teachers, among others.
He described Lagos as the top destination for corps members, noting that parents also feel reassured sending their children there due to the state’s relative security.
