PDP convention must be fair, inclusive – Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called for fairness, openness and inclusivity in the forthcoming national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement on Thursday, Makinde said the November 15–16 convention in Ibadan should serve as a platform to reposition the party and strengthen its chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He stressed that transparent processes and open debates were vital to rebuilding trust and unity within the PDP.

At its 101st National Executive Committee meeting on July 24, the party had described the convention as a major step toward restructuring and repositioning, with 19 new members of the National Working Committee expected toemerge.
