Radiographer abducted on trip from Sokoto to Osogbo

A newly inducted radiographer, Ojedeyi, has been kidnapped while travelling from Sokoto to Osogbo.
According to a family source, she had just been inducted into the professional radiographers’ association last week and was scheduled to begin her internship this week.
The victim left Sokoto on Sunday and later informed her family that the vehicle she boarded broke down at Mokwa, Niger State, on Monday around 2 p.m. After that call, her phone became unreachable.
“We kept calling her number till evening, but it was not reachable. That was when we suspected something was wrong,” the source said.
The kidnappers contacted the family on Tuesday morning, demanding ₦200m for her release and threatening to kill her if the ransom was not paid. The family explained that such an amount was beyond their capacity, but the abductors have refused to reduce the demand.
The incident has been reported to the police commissioners in Sokoto and Niger states. Spokespersons for both commands, Wasiu Abiodun (Niger) and Rufai Ahmad (Sokoto), said they were aware of the report and would provide updates after verification.
