Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has described the emergence of the new Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sanusi Mikailu Sami, Gomo III, as divinely ordained and a true reflection of the will of the people.

The governor made this remark on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi when the Emir, accompanied by members of his council and prominent stakeholders of the emirate, paid him a courtesy visit to express appreciation for his appointment.

Idris, who stressed that the selection process followed due process, said he had no prior personal ties with the Emir but approved his appointment because he was overwhelmingly chosen by the people.

> “Leadership comes from God. I never knew him personally, but I approved his appointment because he was the people’s choice. His emergence is ordained by God and endorsed by his people,” Idris said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the development of Zuru Emirate and Kebbi South, highlighting ongoing projects such as the Koko–Dabai road construction, school and hospital renovations, and plans to equip the Zuru General Hospital with modern medical facilities.

On security, Idris noted that government interventions were yielding positive results, with displaced communities and farmers gradually returning to their homes. He pledged to sustain people-oriented governance despite what he called the opposition’s campaign of calumny.

The governor also paid tribute to the late Emir, Alhaji Sani Sami, Gomo II, praying for peace, prosperity, and divine wisdom for the new monarch as he steers the affairs of the emirate.
