FG to Partner Akwa Ibom on Affordable Power Supply
The Federal Government has expressed readiness to collaborate with Akwa Ibom State in its drive to deliver reliable and affordable electricity to residents.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, made this known at the Akwa Ibom State Electricity Summit 2025 in Ikot-Ekpene on Thursday. Represented by his Chief Technical Adviser, Adedayo Olowoniyi, Adelabu stressed that effective collaboration among federal, state, and local governments is vital for achieving the goal of stable and cost-effective power supply.
He acknowledged the constitutional rights of states to shape their electricity markets but emphasized the need for coordination with the Federal Government, which manages the national grid and wholesale electricity market. Such alignment, he said, would safeguard the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the entire power sector.
