Obasa Rules Out Fifth Term, Eyes Higher Office

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, said he may not contest for a fifth term as a legislator. Instead, he is open to going for either a senatorial or governorship position, depending on what his party decides.

He explained during a TVC interview that politicians may have personal ambitions, but the final decision is based on party consultation, consensus, and direction from party leaders.

Obasa also mentioned that he had faced a political crisis in the past, which led to his temporary removal before being reinstated as Speaker.

When asked directly if he would run again for another term in the Assembly, he replied, “Not really,” showing his focus might be shifting to higher positions.
