2027: Soludo Backs Tinubu, Cites 22-Year Friendship and Economic Reforms

Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, says his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections is rooted in their 22-year friendship and the President’s bold economic policies.
Speaking after a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday, Soludo said his loyalty remains firm despite not being in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“President Tinubu is my friend of 22 years. You don’t deny your friend,” Soludo stated, commending Tinubu’s economic and structural reforms. He called for a coalition of progressive parties to strengthen democracy and drive development.
On Anambra’s security, Soludo highlighted the state’s “kinetic and non-kinetic” strategies, including a Homeland Security Law that has driven out “deadly native doctors” linked to crime. He said about 5,000 youths have been trained in a one-year empowerment programme, with another 8,700 set to receive funding soon, aiming to create thousands of young millionaires within three years.
