ABIODUN SWEARS IN THREE NEW JUDGES, URGES INTEGRITY AND FAIRNESS

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Monday swore in three new judges, charging them to be symbols of justice, shields against oppression, and proof that “right will always prevail over might.”
The new appointees are:
Justice Julius Ojikutu – former Chief Registrar of the Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta.
Justice Adejumoke Adewole – former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
Justice Oluyemisi Adebo – former Secretary, Ogun State Judicial Service Commission.
Governor Abiodun urged the judges to let fairness, integrity, and justice guide their work, stressing that Nigeria’s democracy survives because judges of conscience defend democratic values without fear or favour.
He reminded them to allow the fear of God, their conscience, and the Constitution to guide their rulings, noting that the nation needs judges who are both knowledgeable in law and upright in character.
“This is not merely a legal obligation; it is a moral one, ensuring that justice is felt by every citizen regardless of tribe, religion, political affiliation, or economic status,” he said.
Abiodun also called on them to uphold the principle of separation of powers, ensuring that the executive, legislature, and judiciary work independently yet harmoniously for the good of the people.
