Osun Speaker, Monarch End Dispute After Leaked Audio
Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, and the Alasi of Asi, Oba Olasunkanmi Oyewale, have reconciled following a public fallout triggered by a leaked voice note.
The audio, which surfaced on social media over a week ago, allegedly captured Egbedun accusing the monarch of supporting hoodlums who attacked him in Okuku and threatening to take action against him.
The incident sparked a peaceful protest by some youths in Asi, who accused the monarch of attacking Egbedun, a native of the town.
On Thursday, during Egbedun’s return to the community, Asi youth leader Samuel Olawoyin announced that the matter had been resolved. A mini rally was also held to publicly affirm the reconciliation.
