Dino Melaye Alleges PDP Has Been Bought by APC, Says ADC Is a Moral Movement

Former Kogi lawmaker and spokesperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dino Melaye, has alleged that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been compromised and now operates under the influence of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Melaye made the claim during an appearance on Politics Today, a political affairs programme on Channels Television, on Friday.
> “PDP has been purchased. By who? By APC,” he said.
“PDP is a parastatal of APC. PDP is now a department of APC. In fact, they take directives for NEC and NWC meetings from the villa.”
Melaye expressed concern over the conduct of PDP governors, questioning whether they are truly functioning as members of an opposition party.
> “Just look at the number of PDP governors today — are they behaving like opposition governors?”
“We know the influence of Nigerian governors. Are these governors playing any real opposition role, or are they merely placeholders for APC?”
He also criticized former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu for recent comments that, according to Melaye, reflect a lack of true opposition spirit.
> “With all due respect to my uncle, Babangida Aliyu, he said just two days ago that if Nigerians could tolerate Buhari for eight years, they can do the same again.
Is that the voice of an opposition figure? Or is that someone echoing APC sentiments?”
Melaye warned that Nigeria is in a precarious political state, using metaphorical language to describe the country’s current condition.
> “We live in troubling times — times when the devil sets the menu for his children. If nothing changes, we are heading for deeper trouble.”
