North Doesn’t Trust Peter Obi, Atiku Can’t Defeat Tinubu – Anthony Sani

Former Secretary-General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Anthony Sani, says the North does not trust Peter Obi to keep a one-term promise and believes Atiku Abubakar stands little chance against President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

In an interview with Daily Post, Sani stated that Tinubu remains the candidate most likely to attract Buhari’s bloc votes from the North. He stressed that despite Buhari’s death, his loyalists would still support APC, as the former president remained committed to the party until his death.

> “Buhari’s supporters will not betray him, even in the grave,” Sani said.

On Northern Votes Without Buhari

Sani insists Tinubu can still win Northern support, because Buhari had made it clear he was devoted to the APC. That loyalty is likely to carry on among his base.

On the Opposition Coalition

Sani dismissed the chances of an opposition victory, stating:

> “Unless Tinubu performs very poorly—which I hope doesn’t happen—the North would prefer to let him finish the South’s turn.”
